PML Flightlink partner with the Institute of Industrial Research
The Institute of Industrial Research has received another prestigious KTP grant funded by the DTI for over £200K for a project with PML Flightlink Ltd.
The project addresses intelligent control of a four wheel drive electric vehicle (Mini QED).
The Mini QED will be uniquely software controlled and is capable of high speed and rapid acceleration.
It targets the super car market using novel Artificial Intelligence techniques to control wheels independently and its suspension will be sensitive to road conditions.
The Institute of Industrial Research will be employing two Associates to complete the work on the electric vehicle.
Their background will be in intelligent software and algorithm simulation.
The project runs for 2 years and will cover topics such as Active Suspension, Dynamic Vehicle Stability Control, Advanced Traction Control to name a few.
The Institute of Industrial Research has moved into its new purpose built accommodation in the Burnaby Building at Portsmouth University.
